SUMMARY:

Braziliam vitiviniculture, as na economic and social activity, is important because it is linked to the sustainability of small and medium-sized rural Properties. Braziliam grape production in 2020 was 1.633.182 tons, with emphasis on the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where 90% of wines and juices, 85% of sparkling wines are produced, in total of 951,5 tons of grape. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) generated by vitiviniculture was R$ 26,47 billion. In the year 2020 with the Covid-19 pandemic, in Brazil, wine became the quarantine drink, where per capita consumption was 2,6 liters, where in 2019 it was 2 liters per capita. Regular wine consumers almost doubled from 2010 to 2020, from 22,4 million to 39 million. The work seeks to carry out a case study, with qualitative research, on bibliographic and documentary bases, to better understand the increase in consumption of fine wine en Brazil, in the Covid-19 pandemic and the learnings in companies in Rio Grande do Sul. The theoretical review will help, in establishing a structured script, for semi-structured interviews and data collection with specialists, for the construction of the SWOT matrix – strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; Porter’s five forces, in obtaining possible competitive strategic decisions, in this case the increase in the consumption of fine wine in Brazil and understanding of learning related to the Covid-19 pandemic are relevant.
