SCHOOL DROPOUT IN SUBSEQUENT TECHNICAL COURSES IN PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION OF IFRS - CAMPUS VIAMÃO/RS

The present research project describes an applied survey developed on the Professional and Technical Education Masters Program (ProfEPT) from IFRS on Porto Alegre campus, with the general goal of investigate the reasons for dropout from subsequent courses of Professional Technological Education (ProfEPT) from IFRS Viamão Campus, and to build alternatives to minimize them in the institution considering the actions of the Academic Register Coordination. It is a research guided by the qualitative research, with applied nature, and descriptive exploratory goal. As for the technical procedures, bibliographic research, document analysis and case study will be adopted. For data collection, semi-structured interviews will be carried out and online questionnaires will be applied to research participants: dropout students, teachers, course coordinators, administrative technicians in education linked academic registration coordination and student assistance coordination. Subsidize the research concepts of subsequent courses, history of dropout in basic education, concepts and data of dropout in professional technological education, permanence and success, NiloPeçanha platform and institutional welcome. The results obtained after analyzed in the light of the theoretical framework, will support the development of and educational product, which will be built to define strategies that contribute to minimizing dropout in professional technological education subsequent to high school. Such educational product will be applied experimentally and later evaluated in the process.
