SUMMARY:

From a Brazilian perspective, the creative economy represents a thriving and significant sector at national level. In this environment is the music market, which, despite standing out as a representative sector, is characterized by low professionalization, especially regarding the subject of copyright and its related protections. Therefore, this project aims to contribute to the professionalization of entrepreneurs in the music market, members of the creative economy ecosystem, through knowledge dissemination regarding the topic of copyright and its protections. In this way, related protections will be analyzed, and the sector's knowledge will be mapped for the purpose of preparing teaching material and training initiatives on the topic. Therefore, to achieve this objective, we shall follow methodological procedures that enable proximity to the project's target audience, involving them in the design of the solution. To this end, we will conduct focus groups, using semi-structured scripts, and a survey, with the intention of understanding the level of knowledge regarding the central theme. Subsequently, we shall propose a workshop to present the technological product. To make this project possible, we expect to count on the active participation of the State Institute of Music (IEM) of Rio Grande do Sul and the RS Criativo Program, which are demanding the action. In this sense, the actions of these organizations will allow the engagement of professionals in the music market and, thus, their active participation in the activities proposed to make this project viable. Therefore, we hope that there will be sufficient inputs to prepare a course focused on the topic of copyright and resulting protections, with an emphasis on the music market in Rio Grande do Sul and its needs. Furthermore, we propose to develop materials, which shall serve as a guide on the topic and are adapted to the profile of their target audience. We believe that such development is appropriate to the needs of the aforementioned public, since its operations focus on generating new products and services, without considering the management and processes that make up its business. In this way, topics such as copyright and related protections are not common knowledge and, therefore, we expect that the product to be developed in this project will be of great value to the sector.
