User education for using the Clóvis Vergara Marques library

This research deals with the educational function of libraries performed through user education, an activity developed to teach users of libraries to use their information resources, guiding them towards a better use of its products and services and developing skills in searching for and using information, in a context characterized by digital culture and technology Information and Communication (ICTs). Therefore, this research has as its theme the user education for the use of the Clóvis Vergara Marques library, justified by the relevance that libraries have in the educational context and the need to promote and encourage its use by the user community through of digital technologies. The problem proposed by the study is: how to encourage the use of the Clóvis Vergara Marques library by IFRS-Campus students Porto Alegre. To answer this question, the general objective of the research proposes to develop an educational product with a view to promoting the education of IFRS Campus Porto Alegre students for autonomous use of the Clóvis library Vergara Marques. The research is structured into four chapters, which include the contextualization of the study; related works related to the theme of search; the theoretical and conceptual foundation, which deals with the definition of libraries, typologies, their educational role, user education, and libraries inserted in digital culture; and the methodology used to achieve the objectives proposed, which will be elaborated based on a case study. As a proposal for educational product, a video will be produced with information from the library and guidelines for its use, which will be presented by the researcher and evaluated by the study participants, seeking to identify points that can be improved. A Data collection will be done through a questionnaire developed in Google Forms, and its application will take place in a classroom environment
